Traveling to Mount Sinai today! Where is Mount Sinai? It is everywhere you want to see God and be with God and accept the responsibilities of His Commandments. Do not murder, do not steal, do not covet, do not commit adultery: Yes, there are things we cannot do in reality, but in our dreams and in art and writing we can do whatever our hearts and creative minds imagine--depending on if it will cause a harmful megillah or not. We need to be responsible at all times, but in our dreams, in our fiction, in our pretty pictures, there is what is called a "poetic license" and we can express ourselves in a creative way that lets out the steam from our kettle. We can follow a poet's imagery as guidance to our lives, and we can live in a fairyland as long as we follow certain rules. There are rules that can be broken and rules that we must accept that we cannot change. We change the rules that are unjust. We can create art and poetry about a perfect world and in that process of creating it, we are living in it! Travel with me to Mount Sinai today, obey the traffic signs on the way there, and jump off the top of the mountain with me in parachute and feel the wind through your hair! Flying free is a gift for me!
