THE PLACE OF LOVE AND HONOR AND RESPECT

Traveling today to a place of love and respect, a place where as the Torah instructs us to do, to honor our Fathers and Mothers.

To lovingly remember a Dad who is now deceased but whose aura of loving-kindness was so great while I was a kid that his protection and help to me still gets me through a hard day today, remembering how he had peace and understanding of me when I would show him my compassion for him, when I would offer him the gift of a daughter's concern he would always lovingly accept it, he was not only thankful to me for my concern, he was also thankful to G-d for having me as his daughter.

Remembering phoning my Dad when he was at work, phoning him everyday from my place of work to his, and remembering how he would always answer my calls and always show me a Father's love for his daughter, these calls would get me through the day.

Having had a Dad who openly told people that he was Jewish but that his wife was not. He was a proud man to be a Jew, and as a Jew his G-d was The Almighty G-d and he was steeped in G-d's care for his entire life. When he told others that he was a Jew, he received the love of G-d because of his honesty and self pride. He had pride in all the members of his family of origin, pride in his sisters and brothers and pride in his children, pride in me and in my siblings.

Being proud to be a Jew and proud to have the eternal love of G-d that was a gift to me from my Father, my Dad was a great man, a gentle and kind man, a Jewish man who by example taught me how to love G-d too and how to also love my family and have understanding of their problems.

The incredibleness that my Dad was born into this life as a Levite Priest, his peace he taught me as he lived his life and this peace was mine by choice to inherit.

The peace of Shabbat is mine and the peace of having had a wonderful Dad is mine too.
