THE QUIET SNOOZY PLACE OF AN AFTERNOON NAP

Traveling today to the place of an afternoon nap. The ultimate luxury of being a snoozing sloth, a sluggard when the sun is hot and is in its highest position in an afternoon sky, a comfy bed in which to rest, a couch to lay, an upholstered chair in which to sit, a pillow in back of your head to provide rest to your brain as it dreams the sweetest of dreams!

A siesta everyday as an agenda item on your list, a time to forget responsibilities, a time to put it aside, to shelve it, to file it, to close the book. A time to read yourself to sleep, a good book, a story that causes a snooze, a story with a happy ending, a book with print that swims in front of your tired eyes.

The holy book of The Psalms tell us that "The Lord visits His beloved in their sleep."

Having a calming dream that does not waken your body, body relaxation and slowness of heart beat, low pulse rate and breathing not in gasps. Lowered blood pressure, sinking with fullness into cushy memory foam with a limp relaxed body, being in complete darkness, total silence.

A siesta not a fiesta, an afternoon of complete rest. A Shabbat carried over into a weekday, a siesta then to become a fiesta.

Closing one's eyes for an hour, reopening and blinking them to see a deep blue sky in majestic magic, to see life differently, to see life as worth living, having a rejuvenation and renewed interest, sparkling your eyes with a smile, a laugh, a chuckle, as you wake up to drink a cup of hot black tea potently swirling with caffeine.

A life of ease; a life to take it easy.

Taking it easy; but taking it!
