How can we stop being jealous when we hear things that urge us to be coveting, to have a natural competitiveness to win at the game of life and for others to lose.
Life is not a Poker game or a game of Chess. Encouraging others in their ways and them striving to be better persons is something we need to encourage and not to put up obstacles against the gains of others'.
If you have a relative who is a natural success, to be there for him, not to covet his successes and/or property. To laugh with him/her and to encourage him to win again and again, and not to exhibit jealousies, they are so wicked and ugly. They make you look ugly.
To give him a pat on the back, to say you are proud of his endeavors, to offer him food and drink, to take him into your arms and tell him "He's a jolly good fellow!"
Not to resort to evil covetous thinking and not to compare his successes with yours.
Give him the feeling that you are proud of him and his successes and that you want to see more. A parent or sibling that cares for another, a family that urges the success of all its members.
Yes, no matter where you are or what you are doing, there is a place for you to help others, even if it is just with a smile to show someone loving-kindness.
Sincerity and real true unconditional love goes a long way!
