CREATING YOUR OWN PROMISED LAND

Image result for promised land

We read in The Holy Torah that Moses, the Greatest of all Torah Prophets, never reached The Promised Land. He did something of which Gd did not approve, he broke a rock to get water with his staff, even though Gd told him to rely on Him to provide the water. So, Israel, The Promised Land was a place Moses never saw, never was buried there, never stepped foot on.

If you are like Moses, never to get to The Promised Land, or not to get there often enough to make a difference in your life, there are things you can do to create your own Promised Land no matter where you are, whatever is your place, wherever you stand, wherever you sleep.

Your own house? Yes, it can be your Promised Land. Buy some land and build your own fairy tale house on this land. Design it yourself with the help of professional architects.

Hang beautiful works of art in this house. Use stained glass windows mixed with transparent or translucent glass.

Put up a splashy swimming pool or rumbling Jacuzzi in your backyard. A copper bathtub to light a fire under? Build a children's playground, a swing set, a slippery slide for your kids and their friends to play.

Put up a Mezuzah on at least one of your doorposts. To have a ceremony to bless this Mezuzah, as a House Warming Party.

Make your comfy kitchen a perfect place to bake in an oven not just to cook. The sniffy aromatic smells of fresh bakery: loaves of bread, sweet fruit pies, frosting on cakes, chewy chocolate chip cookies, vanilla wafers, buttered biscuits, round rolls, delicious dumplings, the skies the limit!

Have a clothes closet of colorful clothing, filled to the brim with all your favorite blouses, skirts, shoes. Clothes that are all completely clean: well laundered and ironed. The clothes closet of a Queen/King, every color combination, warm wool, lovely linen, fluffy furs, bright blue, perfect purple, creamy screamy scarlet crimson!

Live near a city park? A Sanctuary? Or a forest preserve? A mountain in your neighborhood? A lake? Take a ride in your car to wherever you wish to be. Once there, in this place, to love it,  to thank Gd for it, to call it your "Promised Land".

To stand firmly on its grounds and to feel this Promise, your Covenant, your Promise to serve Gd. Gd running up your legs from your feet into your arms, as you stand graciously on this ground, love as electricity up and down your body, circulating in your blood vessels that are like electric wires. A body composed of the fierce energy of a locomotive train, a space rocket, the sun's energy and moon's. Bouncing electrons from level to level, protons, neutrons, as tiny as they can be, that together create hugeness!

A place for you to go, to get away from it all, a vacation? To be in A Promised Land, no matter where you go. The place of a Promised Land being wherever Gd dwells with you too.

To be there with Him anytime you think of Him, and everywhere you go. Thank Him and love Him!!
